Domain Name Registration and Set-up

What is a domain name?
A domain name is your address on the World Wide Web.

What types of domain names are there?
The domain suffixes differentiate between the various types of organizations on the web. For example, these are the primary generic TLDs (Top Level Domains):

.com - businesses and commercial enterprises
.net - network-related enterprises
.org - charitable or non-profit organizations
.biz - businesses and commercial enterprises
.info - unrestricted

Further to these there are country specific Second Level Domains - (2LDs) like .us, .co.uk, .co.yu, etc. In some countries the use of the country code is permitted as a top level domain.

Why use us to register/set up your domain name?
Setting up your domain can be a complicated procedure. The advantage of using D&D Echo is that we know how to avoid the traps.

D&D Echo will register the domain names in your name and you will own them, but we will have access as the domain administrator or technical contact (depending on the system) so that we can make any required adjustments.

If you choose to do it yourself to save a little money, it almost always causes problems for us in delegating the domain to the correct place. Obviously, if it is already set up and working then there is no need to adjust it.

Please note: Our domain registration services are only used in conjunction with designing your site or application and for 1 year only. We don't do domain acquisition as a stand alone service.
